Luxury villa on a phantastic site with a view that feels like freedom
Vacation & Accomodation to your needs
Peaceful Holidays
Villa Aeonios offers perfect tranquility laying about 300m outside the village.
In the summerly Matala, the next village up the coast with a couple of bars and restaurants, nights are often celebrated with live music until the morning. The heart of Pitsidia is a bit more quiet, but a Mediterranean village is noisy by nature. If you already missed privacy or quietness in hotels and this had already ruined some of your vacation days in your past, Villa Aeonios is perfect for you.
At the new and fully equipped Villa Aeonios luxury, comfort and privacy await you, perhaps with your family, your friends or with whomever you choose to travel with.
With a private pool, three big terraces and plenty of space in the house you can look forward to a peaceful holiday there.
Fascinating spots
A number of sights can be seen in the immediate vicinity, from Bronze Age to modern times. Mentioned should be here the ancient caves of Matala, the palace of Phaestos and of course its port, which was discovered just below Villa Aeonios on beautiful Kommos Beach.
Up the Messara plain next to Mires the ancient town of Gortys filled a big area in ancient Greek and Roman times. Interesting archaeological sites and a museum can be visited there.
Pitsidia itself is one of the oldest villages in the whole area of Messara and was founded already in the byzantine time.
Matala instead was a legendary hippie hub of the late 60s, where the likes of Janis Joplin and Bob Dylan met. The spirit of “Peace & Love” can still be felt a little today and so it is said: “Today is life, tomorrow never comes!”
Life is a beach
Located below the villa and visible from the roof terrace is the approximately 3km long Komos Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Crete. There are sunbeds and umbrellas on the south side towards the rocks and on the north side in Kalamaki.
Matala also has a very pretty beach. If you enjoy walking, climb over the hill in Matala to the legendary Red Beach; the view on the walk is breathtaking in itself.
On average, there are about 300 sunny days a year in Pitsidia. Even if it rains in the Messara plain above, the clouds almost never reach the coast. For those sensitive to the sun, Villa Aeonios has plenty of sun protection with 3 large pergolas.
Pitsidia is also a great travel destination in winter, with moderate warm weather, e.g. for hours of hiking on lonely beaches or on deserted hills or for bicycling on nearly empty roads.
